The Montgomery Project represents a step forward in the way Calgarians typically approach rebuilding the inner city. Our brief was to propose a redevelopment plan for an unusual lot within Calgary's Montgomery community. The new residence is highly efficient in all aspects of its design and construction, and features several passive and innovative approaches to sustainable living. Utilizing photovoltaics, passive ventilation, passive solar gain, rain water harvesting, waste heat recovery, and efficient space planning - the new home is counter to the typical infill and attempts something better for Calgary and for the way we build.
